Virus test kits issued to households

January 21, 2022

Having detected multiple COVID-19 cases at Yat Kwai House in Kwai Chung Estate, the Government today distributed COVID-19 rapid test kits to households in the four buildings nearby.

In the hope of identifying infected individuals early, the Home Affairs Department and the Kwai Tsing District Office distributed the test kits to 3,460 households in Nga Kwai House, Yuk Kwai House, Ying Kwai House and Hiu Kwai House through their letter boxes this morning for the residents to take the test by themselves.

The Government appealed for the co-operation of the public to safeguard the health of themselves and their families by voluntarily taking the virus test.

All individuals who are in doubt about their own health condition, or people with infection risks, such as those who visited places with epidemic outbreaks or had contact with COVID-19 patients, are urged to undergo testing promptly to reduce the risks of virus transmission.

The rapid test kit testing, however, is not a substitute for the Government’s compulsory testing requirement, it stressed.
