No virus cases in 3 restricted areas

January 21, 2022

The Government announced that the compulsory testing exercises and enforcement operations for the three restricted areas in Tin Shui Wai, Tsuen Wan and Cheung Sha Wan finished today with no positive COVID-19 cases found.

It made restriction-testing declarations yesterday evening, requiring people in the three specified areas to stay in their premises and undergo mandatory testing.

The areas covered Shing Him House (Block H) of Tin Shing Court in Tin Shui Wai, Tower 1 of New Haven in Tsuen Wan and Cheung Yan House of Cheung Sha Wan Estate, where about 880, 590 and 1,640 people were tested.

In the subsequent enforcement operations, about 1,340 people’s test records were checked. Seven people were found to have not undergone testing and were issued with a compulsory testing order.

Government staff also visited around 1,322 households in the three areas, of which about 84 did not answer the door. Such households are urged to contact the Government promptly to arrange testing.

According to the compulsory testing notices issued yesterday, those who had stayed in these three buildings within a specified period for more than two hours must undergo testing by tomorrow even if they were not in the restricted areas when the declarations took effect.
