Seniors' walk-in jab service expanded

January 12, 2022

The Department of Health announced that starting tomorrow, 12 more elderly health centres (EHCs) will provide a walk-in COVID-19 vaccination service with the Sinovac jab to all citizens aged 65 or above, in addition to the three EHCs currently providing such service.

From tomorrow to February 28, these 15 EHCs will offer the jab service every Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 12.30pm and from 2pm to 6.30pm, as well as on Saturday from 8.30am to 1pm, except public holidays. No prior booking is required.

Senior citizens need to present their Hong Kong identity cards for registration on a first come, first served basis until the daily quota is full, the department said.

While the booked medical and allied health consultation services for members and the seasonal influenza vaccination service for people aged 65 or above will continue to be provided at the 15 EHCs, other services will be suspended in order to spare more facilities and manpower in providing the COVID-19 jab service. Centre staff will make further arrangements for affected members.

Contact the EHCs or visit the relevant website for further details.
