A wristband is given to residents in the Tung Chung restricted area as proof of having undergone compulsory COVID-19 testing.

The Government announced that the compulsory testing exercises and enforcement operations for the restricted areas in Ma On Shan, North Point and Tung Chung finished today with no positive COVID-19 cases found.

It made restriction-testing declarations last night, requiring people within the three specified restricted areas to stay in their premises and undergo compulsory testing.

The areas covered Block 6, Villa Athena in Ma On Shan, Nam Tin Building in North Point and Tower 6, Albany Cove, Caribbean Coast Phase II in Tung Chung.

Around 300 residents in the Ma On Shan restricted area, 285 in the North Point one and 900 in Tung Chung were tested.

In the subsequent enforcement operations, about 280 people's test records were checked. A compulsory testing order was issued to 40 individuals who were found to have not undergone mandatory testing.

Government staff also visited around 610 households in the three restricted areas, of which some 80 did not answer the door. Such households are urged to contact the Government promptly to arrange testing.

According to the compulsory testing notices issued yesterday, those who have stayed in these buildings for more than two hours from December 12 to January 1 must undergo testing by tomorrow even if they were not in the restricted areas when the declarations took effect.
