The Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department announced today that the Agriculture Hall of the Lions Nature Education Centre in Tsiu Hang, Sai Kung will reopen on December 22.

The hall comprises newly-designed interactive exhibits and games to stimulate students' interest in agricultural science. It also integrates the food that people eat on a daily basis with local agricultural production to enhance learning effectiveness and promote the local agricultural industry.

Ricey and Beany, the mascots of the Agriculture Hall, will guide visitors around the facility and introduce the development of local agriculture and its technology application as well as its diversity and sustainability.

The Agriculture Hall features models of local premium vegetable and fruit crops as well as insects, simulated organic farms and major projection and motion sensing games.

Among them are "Story of a seed" to showcase the whole process of tomato planting with the use of a hologram. The hall also provides information on science education for kindergartens as well as primary and secondary schools.

Through exhibits of indoor vertical hydroponic farming and videos of agricultural machinery, the hall demonstrates how the modernisation of local agriculture has made better use of land and achieved manpower minimisation through mechanisation.
