Police recruitment day held
A Police Recruitment Experience & Assessment Day held at the Police College today showcased the force’s selection process, foundation training programmes and physical fitness test, and received on-spot applications.
Themed Your Police, the event attracted a total attendance of 1,671.
Through workshops, visitors were given the opportunity to experience the Police Force’s selection process and obtain useful information and tips. Trainees and training instructors also shared their training lives with visitors.
Introduced for the first time, thematic talks covering topics selected by the participants were offered at the event to provide a better knowledge of police work.
Furthermore, participants attending the physical test workshops experienced the four fitness test items, including 800-metre run, shuttle-run, vertical jump and handgrip strength test. They could also submit job applications to join the force and take part in the selection process today.
Additionally, a range of police units including the Patrol Sub-unit, the Emergency Unit, the Police Tactical Unit, the Narcotics Bureau, the Police Dog Unit, and the Force Escort Group exhibited their equipment and introduced their work and duties to visitors.
Police said 532 on-spot applications were received today. Applicants included students of local and overseas tertiary institutes, working people and ethnic minorities.
Applications can be made throughout the year.
