December 7, 2021

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is probing five additional imported COVID-19 cases involving three men and two women.

Four of them involved the L452R mutant strain while the remaining case’s mutation test result is pending.

Four of the patients tested positive upon arrival at Hong Kong International Airport, while the other tested positive at the Penny's Bay Quarantine Centre.

A total of 62 cases were reported in Hong Kong in the past 14 days, all of which are imported.

Meanwhile, the centre reminded specified persons in relation to Way Man Court in Happy Valley to undergo compulsory testing tomorrow.

Additionally, in view of a preliminary positive imported case involving a patient who had stayed in Hong Kong during the incubation period, 11 specified premises are included in the compulsory testing notice.

Regarding two previous imported cases involving patients who had stayed in Hong Kong during the incubation period, people who had been at six specified premises during the specified period have to undergo additional testing.

Three schools are also subject to compulsory testing due to outbreaks of upper respiratory tract infection or influenza-like illness.
