HK triumphs at national games

Hong Kong athletes won two more gold medals and one bronze at the 11th National Games for Persons with Disabilities & the Eighth National Special Olympic Games today.

 

Lee Ming-yip and Tong Chi-ming of the table tennis team secured a gold medal in the Men's Doubles TT7 race, while swimmer Cheong Sui-kei scored another gold in the Women's S14 400m Freestyle event.

 

The Men's SB13 100m Breaststroke bronze went to Lip Kin-kwan.

 

Extending his heartfelt congratulations to the medal winners, Secretary for Home Affairs Caspar Tsui expressed hope that Hong Kong athletes would continue to perform at their best.

 

He said: “Hong Kong athletes excelled in the competitions and their achievements fully demonstrate that their hard training has paid off.”

 

Twenty-three athletes from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region delegation are competing in the athletics, swimming and table tennis events.

 

They have performed brilliantly, earning eight gold, one silver and five bronze medals so far.
