HK athletes claim more medals

Secretary for Home Affairs Caspar Tsui today congratulated Hong Kong athletes on winning another three gold and four bronze medals at the 11th National Games for Persons with Disabilities & the Eighth National Special Olympic Games.

 

Swimmer Wong Hon-yin bagged two more golds in the Men's SB14 100m Breaststroke and S14 100m Freestyle events, while Cheong Sui-kei topped the Women's S14 100m Freestyle competition.

 

Chow Chi-wai and Yam Kwok-fan scored bronze in the Men's T20 Long Jump and the Women's T36 100m races.

 

The other two bronze medals were claimed by the table tennis teams of Leung Chung-yan and Tsoi Ming-fai who took part in the Men's Doubles TT11 event and Lee Ming-yip, Tong Chi-ming and Tong Chi-yung who participated in the Men's Team TT7 event.

 

Mr Tsui said: “Hong Kong athletes maintained a high level of concentration and demonstrated outstanding skills during the competitions. I am proud of their excellent results.”
