Storm signal downgraded

The Hong Kong Observatory has downgraded the storm signal from No. 8 to No. 3, as tropical storm Kompasu moves away from the city.

 

The No. 8 Northeast Gale or Storm Signal, issued at 5.20pm yesterday, was replaced by the Strong Wind Signal No. 3 at 4.40pm today.

 

The Hospital Authority said 21 people sought medical treatment at public hospitals due to typhoon-related injuries, including one man who died.

 

During the storm, the 1823 Government Call Centre received 72 reports of fallen trees, while the Drainage Services Department confirmed 10 flooding cases.

 

The Home Affairs Department opened 24 temporary shelters in which 255 people sought refuge.
