Updated jab records meet UK rules

October 8, 2021

The Food & Health Bureau today announced that the UK government will recognise Hong Kong's updated COVID-19 vaccination records starting at 4am on October 11 for travel to England.

The bureau noted that after liaising with the relevant authorities on COVID-19 vaccination records, the UK authorities notified the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government that its updated vaccination records meet the relevant local requirements.

With a view to meeting the travel rules that are becoming more commonly adopted by some overseas jurisdictions, information on the vaccine recipient’s date of birth and sex, as well as the manufacturer of the vaccine the person received have been added to the COVID-19 vaccination records issued by the Hong Kong SAR Government since September 29.

Arrangements have been made to provide the updated records to people who have already been vaccinated.

The bureau reminded the public that the UK government has implemented new quarantine requirements for travelling to England from October 4.

The public should refer to the latest requirements as announced by the UK government and note the COVID-19 vaccine recognised by the UK authorities for entry purposes.
