Non-local jab records to be accepted

September 14, 2021

The Food & Health Bureau announced today the Government will accept inbound travellers’ registration of their non-local COVID-19 vaccination records through voluntary declaration from tomorrow.

It said the new arrangement will facilitate people to carry and view the records in an electronic format for their daily use in fulfilling relevant requirements under the local vaccine bubble such as entering into premises which require proof of vaccination.

Under the new arrangement, inbound travellers subject to compulsory quarantine must declare their non-local COVID-19 vaccination record while conducting the Health & Quarantine Information Declaration via the Department of Health’s online platform.

Officers at control points will check the proof of a non-local vaccination record upon the traveller's arrival in Hong Kong and issue a vaccination record QR code for local use.

The arrangement will be applicable to those arriving at Hong Kong International Airport from September 15 onwards. Those arriving via land boundary control points will get the QR code from September 28 onwards.

As for inbound travellers already in Hong Kong, they can declare online their non-local vaccination records through the COVID-19 Vaccination Information Declaration from tomorrow.

Upon completion of the declaration, a vaccination record QR code for local use will be issued immediately.

People can also declare their non-local vaccination record at designated Hongkong Post counters with assistance from staff free of charge.

Applicants will need to complete the declaration form and present the original copies of their identity document and non-local vaccination record.

Holders of a vaccination record QR code for local use can scan and save the code with the LeaveHomeSafe mobile app.
