Compulsory testing:

Housing Department staff assist people in the restricted area to register for COVID-19 testing.

The Government announced that the compulsory testing exercise and enforcement operation for the Tung Chung restricted area finished today with no confirmed COVID-19 cases found.

It made a restriction-testing declaration last night, requiring people living at Mei Yat House of Yat Tung (II) Estate to stay in their premises and undergo compulsory testing. As at 2am, 1,614 people were tested.

In the subsequent enforcement operation, 627 people's test records were checked. One person was found to have not undergone mandatory testing and was issued with a compulsory testing order.

Government staff also visited about 790 households in the restricted area, of which around 110 did not answer the door. Follow-up measures will be taken.

According to the compulsory testing notice, people who stayed in the building for more than two hours from July 25 to August 16 must undergo compulsory testing by August 18 even if they were not in the restricted area when the declaration took effect.
