The Labour Department will hold the Opening Up a New Terrain Job Fair at MacPherson Stadium in Mong Kok on August 17 and 18 to offer more than 3,200 vacancies for young people and fresh graduates.

Around 60 organisations will participate in the job fair.

They offer a wide variety of vacant positions including management trainee, registered nurse, veterinary assistant, education centre tutor, clerk, shop assistant, customer service officer, assistant engineer, technician, security guard, driver, storekeeper, waiter or waitress, chef, bus captain, tram driver and cashier.

About 85% of the vacancies are full-time jobs, mostly offering monthly salaries ranging from $11,000 to $19,000.

Among the vacancies, about 97% require a Secondary 6 education level or below and about 62% are open to people without relevant work experience.

The job fair will be held from 11am to 5.30pm. Job seekers can submit applications during the event and may be selected for on-the-spot interviews.
