5 imported COVID-19 cases identified

August 12, 2021

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating five additional imported COVID-19 cases.

The patients arrived in Hong Kong from Thailand, South Korea, Switzerland and Singapore.

A total of 40 cases were reported in Hong Kong in the past 14 days, one of which is a local case with an unknown infection source while the rest are imported.

The centre reminded specified people linked to Tower 6, Harbour Place in Hung Hom, Bohemian House in Sai Ying Pun and Sea View Mansion in Sheung Wan to undergo compulsory testing tomorrow in accordance with the compulsory testing notice.

Additionally, a compulsory testing notice published today requires those who had come into contact or handled the fish sold by a fish stall or had been at four premises during the specified period to undergo a COVID-19 nucleic acid test. This also applies to those who have completed a COVID-19 vaccination course.
