2 imported cases identified

June 23, 2021

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating two additional COVID-19 cases involving a 34-year-old woman who arrived from Indonesia and a 49-year-old man whose travel history is pending.

As the sewage samples collected in a specified area in Tai Po tested positive for the virus with a very high viral load, all buildings and structures within the area, except those without domestic use, are covered in a compulsory testing notice.

People who had been present at these buildings or structures for more than two hours from June 10 to 23 have to undergo testing by June 25.

Mobile specimen collection stations will be set up at the open area outside Block A, Yat Wing House of Yat Nga Court, Tai Po Market Station Public Transport Interchange and Ma Wo Road Garden.

The community testing centre at Tai Wo Sports Centre will also extend its operation to June 25.

A total of 28 cases were reported in Hong Kong in the past 14 days, all of which are imported.
