COVID-19 jab incentives welcomed
Secretary for Food & Health Prof Sophia Chan today said the Government welcomes incentives to encourage people to receive COVID-19 jabs.
Prof Chan made the remarks this morning when she was asked by reporters about a developer’s move to offer a flat for lucky draw by people who have received the jabs.
She said: “It seems that from a number of surveys, there are people who are in the wait-and-see process, that is they are probably contemplating whether they are going to get vaccinated or not, and haven't taken any action.”
As vaccination is key to controlling the epidemic, the Government supports any motivation offered by the private sector to boost the uptake of COVID-19 jabs, she added.
She also said incentives by more corporations and employers are welcome as they can help move people from thinking to actually taking action.
