Roadside skip upgrade aid set

May 24, 2021

The Environmental Protection Department today launched a subsidy scheme for retrofitting roadside skips to help operators meet road safety and environmental protection requirements.

The one-off subsidy is capped at $22,000 for each skip currently used for collecting construction waste.

Applications will close on September 30. After receiving notification on the acceptance of application, skip owners can upgrade their skips at the 14 approved workshops by the end of this financial year.

The department said it will disburse the subsidy directly to the workshops after confirming the retrofitted skips have met certification requirements.
