Housing Department staff register the details of people in the Chai Wan restricted area for COVID-19 tests.

The Government announced that the compulsory testing exercise for the restricted area in Chai Wan finished today with no confirmed COVID-19 cases found.

It exercised the power under the Prevention & Control of Disease (Compulsory Testing for Certain Persons) Regulation yesterday to make a restriction-testing declaration to require people within the specified restricted area at Fung Hing House, Hing Wah (II) Estate, 18 Wan Tsui Road to stay in their premises and undergo compulsory testing.

The Government also issued a compulsory testing notice to those who had been at the building for more than two hours from April 23 to May 6 to undergo compulsory testing by May 8 even if they were not at the building when the declaration took effect.

There were 53 residents tested.

Meanwhile, the Government assigned staff to visit about 260 households and around 40 households did not answer the door. Those include one household with a confirmed case. Follow-up measures will be taken.

Additionally, no one was found to have not undergone compulsory testing during the enforcement operation.
