Virus tests in restricted areas end

May 6, 2021

The Government announced that the compulsory testing exercises for the restricted areas in Tsuen Wan, Quarry Bay and Southern District finished today and all test results were negative.

It made restriction-testing declarations on May 4 and 5 to require people within the specified restricted areas at Block R of Allway Gardens in Tsuen Wan, Block N2 of Kornhill in Quarry Bay and Royalton at 118 Pok Fu Lam Road to stay in their premises and undergo compulsory testing for COVID-19.

About 460 residents in the Tsuen Wan restricted area were tested, about the same amount of residents received testing in the Quarry Bay operation and about 110 residents were tested in the Southern District.

The Government also issued compulsory testing notices to those who had been present at these buildings for more than two hours from April 21 to May 4 to undergo mandatory testing by May 6 even if they were not in the restricted areas when the declarations took effect.
