7 COVID-19 cases identified
The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating seven additional COVID-19 cases, of which one is locally transmitted and linked with a local case and six are imported.
The local case involves a 28-year-old woman who lives in Hiu Kwai House of Kwai Chung Estate. She developed symptoms on April 24.
Additionally, Oi Fai House (Block 2) at Yau Oi Estate in Tuen Mun and a school were included in the compulsory testing notice. The Government said Oi Fai House had been placed on the April 16 notice but the relevant people have to undergo a second test as the virus’ incubation period could be long.
The school concerned is also covered in the compulsory testing notice as a precaution, following an outbreak of upper respiratory tract infection, the symptoms of which are similar to those of COVID-19.
The Government will set up mobile specimen collection stations at Kiangsu & Chekiang Primary School in North Point and Oi Fai House tomorrow for people subject to compulsory testing. Another two mobile specimen collection stations will extend their service period.
The imported cases arrived from Nepal, the Philippines and India, involving one male and five females.
A total of 141 cases have been recorded in the past 14 days, including 35 local ones, of which 16 have unknown infection sources.
