HK reports 12 COVID-19 cases
The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating 12 additional COVID-19 cases, of which four are locally transmitted including one with an unknown source of infection.
The unlinked case involves an 88-year-old retired man who developed a fever on March 17. He attended United Christian Hospital’s accident and emergency department on March 22 and tested positive for the virus.
The remaining three local cases are linked with other cases. Two of the patients developed symptoms on March 21, while the remaining one was asymptomatic.
Meanwhile, seven buildings with one or more confirmed cases or sewage samples that tested positive are covered by a compulsory testing notice.
Additionally, there was an outbreak of influenza-like illness in TWGHs Shiu Wong Lee Moon Fook Nursery School in Aberdeen. As the symptoms are similar to those of COVID-19, the school was also covered in the compulsory testing notice as a precaution.
The Government will set up a mobile specimen collection station at Bauhinia Garden in Tseung Kwan O on March 24, while the service period of the station at the Quarry Bay Community Hall carpark will be extended to March 25.
The imported cases arrived from France, Pakistan, Indonesia and the Philippines.
