Vehicle exam complex to open April 1
The newly completed multi-storey Transport Department Vehicle Examination Complex in Tsing Yi will start services in phases from April 1.
Located at 18 Sai Tso Wan Road, the complex is equipped with 30 inspection lanes and other auxiliary facilities on three floors for conducting examinations of various vehicles, inspections for vehicle type approval of new vehicle models and pre-registration examinations of vehicles.
The department said the complex will reprovision three existing government vehicle examination centres in three phases. Services currently offered at the New Kowloon Bay Vehicle Examination Centre will be moved to the complex’s ground floor on April 1.
The remaining two centres in Kowloon Bay and To Kwa Wan will be reprovisioned to the other two floors in the second quarter.
These three vehicle examination centres will cease operation after the reprovisioning.
Vehicle owners or their representatives are reminded to arrange their vehicles to attend vehicle examinations at the complex in accordance with the appointment date, time slot and designated inspection lane as indicated in the original appointment letters.
Those who provided their contact numbers in the appointment booking will be notified by phone or via SMS messages to attend the vehicle examination in the complex.
To enable public light buses to travel to and from the complex for vehicle examinations, the department will open designated roads upon the first floor’s commissioning.
