The Government announced that the compulsory testing exercises for the restricted areas in Central & Western District finished today with no confirmed COVID-19 cases found.

It exercised the power under the Prevention & Control of Disease (Compulsory Testing for Certain Persons) Regulation on March 15 to make restriction-testing declarations to require people within two specified restricted areas in the district to stay in their premises and undergo compulsory testing.

The two restricted areas covered Golden Phoenix Court on St. Stephen's Lane, Blocks A and M of Hing Wah Mansion on Babington Path, and Manifold Court on Pok Fu Lam Road, True Light Building on Third Street, High Park 99 on High Street, and Wing Cheung Building on Western Street in Sai Ying Pun.

The Government also issued compulsory testing notices to those who had been at the buildings for more than two hours from March 2 to 15 to undergo compulsory testing on or before March 17 even if they were not at those buildings when the declarations took effect.

About 710 residents were tested.

Meanwhile, the Government assigned staff to visit about 570 households and around 110 households did not answer the door. Follow-up measures will be taken.

Additionally, 10 people were found to have not undergone compulsory testing during the enforcement operation.
