Immigration reports initial virus case

March 11, 2021

The Immigration Department today said a visitor to Immigration Tower has tested preliminary positive for COVID-19.

The department was notified of the case by the Centre for Health Protection this evening.

The visitor concerned was at the department’s Extension Section on 5/F for less than 15 minutes yesterday to deal with extension of stay formalities.

Thorough cleansing and disinfection of the concerned area has been carried out.

The department said it has been strictly implementing various disease prevention measures, including body temperature checks and providing alcohol-based handrub to all people entering the building.

It will maintain close liaison with the centre.
