758k Comirnaty jabs arrive

March 7, 2021

A total of 758,000 doses of the Comirnaty vaccine, jointly developed by Fosun Pharma and BioNTech, arrived in Hong Kong today.

Together with the 585,000 doses delivered to Hong Kong in late February, a total of about 1.34 million doses of the Comirnaty vaccine have arrived in the city.

Staff carried out stringent checks and inspections of the vaccine to ensure it complied with the product specifications and that the transportation process followed the relevant cold-chain requirements.

The vaccine is placed in validated ultra-low temperature freezers to ensure its proper storage in accordance with the temperature specified by the drug manufacturer.

People belonging to the five priority groups can make online reservations for receiving the Comirnaty vaccine at the seven community vaccination centres under the Hospital Authority for the period from March 10 to 30.

They can also make online bookings to receive the Sinovac vaccine at eight community vaccination centres and 18 HA general outpatient clinics for the period until March 28.

Alternatively, they can make a vaccination appointment directly with a private doctor or clinic under the programme, without going through the government online booking system.

Information about the vaccination venues, including community vaccination centres, HA general outpatient clinics, and private doctors and clinics taking part in the programme can be found on the GeoInfo Map and the COVID-19 Interactive Map Dashboard.
