Voter registration drive begins

February 18, 2021

The 2021 Voter Registration Campaign, which aims to remind registered voters to update their details with the Registration & Electoral Office and to encourage eligible people to register as electors, was launched today.

If there are changes in the registration details of registered individual or body electors, they should notify the office by April 2.

Electors applying for a change of registered address are required to submit address proof at the same time.

The office also encouraged Hong Kong permanent residents who hold an identity document, are at least 18 years old, are ordinarily residing in Hong Kong and have not registered as an elector to submit registration applications by May 2 so that they can be included in the final registers to be published in July and be able to vote in elections, including the Legislative Council General Election this year.

When registering as an elector of geographical constituencies, a person will also become an elector in the District Council (second) functional constituency, commonly known as the Super District Council.

The office called on people to provide their telephone numbers and email addresses when submitting their applications so that it can contact them if necessary.

Members of the public can check their registration status and particulars at any time by logging into the Online Voter Information Enquiry System or calling the office’s hotline at 2891 1001.

Application forms can be obtained from the office, District Offices, the management offices of public housing estates or online.

Completed forms can be submitted to the office by post at 13/F, Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Centre, 1 Trademart Drive, Kowloon Bay, by fax at 2891 1180, by email, or via the office’s e-Form Upload Platform.
