The Hospital Authority today said a COVID-19 patient has passed away, taking the number of COVID-19 patients who died in public hospitals to 162.

An 88-year-old female patient with chronic illness was sent to Princess Margaret Hospital on December 29 due to a fever. She tested positive for COVID-19.

Her condition deteriorated subsequently and she passed away last night.
