Govt detects 2 COVID-19 cases

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department (LCSD) and Police today reported a confirmed and a preliminary positive COVID-19 case, involving an outsourced cleaning service contractor worker and a constable.

 

The outsourced cleaner worked at Lok Fu Recreation Ground in Wong Tai Sin and last performed her duties on January 10.

 

She underwent testing after a confirmed case was detected at the building where she lives and was notified today of her positive result.

 

The police constable, posted to the Island Rail Line, Railway District, Patrol Sub-unit, was last at work on January 7.

 

He felt unwell and consulted a doctor on January 11. He preliminarily tested positive today after undergoing a virus test.

 

Both cases have no recent travel history and wore a face mask while on duty.

 

The LCSD and Police have arranged cleaning and disinfection of the work premises involved.
