3 mobile testing stations set

January 12, 2021

The Government today announced that three new mobile specimen collection stations will be set up at Metro Harbour View in Tai Kok Tsui, Kit Yat House of Yat Tung (2) Estate in Tung Chung and King Tao House of King Lam Estate in Tseung Kwan O to provide free COVID-19 nucleic acid testing services.

With the prolonged local COVID-19 epidemic situation, there have been widespread virus cases across all districts. Some patients have been asymptomatic, indicating the existence of many silent transmission chains in the community.

The Government has exercised the power under the Prevention & Control of Disease (Compulsory Testing for Certain Persons) Regulation to cover several buildings under compulsory testing notices and require residents, workers and visitors to undergo testing.

It has arranged for testing service providers to set up mobile specimen collection stations in various districts to provide free and convenient testing services for people covered under the compulsory testing notices.

Apart from the mobile stations, those subject to compulsory testing may also choose to receive free testing at community testing centres in all districts. The centres operate from 8am to 1.30pm and from 2.30pm to 8pm daily and provide booking and on-site registration services.
