14.6k take mandatory virus test
The Home Affairs Department today said more than 14,600 people who are covered in the compulsory testing notices published on December 30 and 31 have taken the virus test on the first day of the mandatory testing period.
The Government has arranged mobile specimen collection stations or other testing facilities for the 43 specified premises accordingly, to provide testing for people covered by the above-mentioned compulsory testing notices.
The department said the around 14,600 people who took the test on December 31 account for 29.2% of the estimated number of residents at corresponding buildings covered by the testing notices.
It thanked the residents who had complied with the compulsory testing notices for their co-operation to fight against the virus together.
The department also appeals to members of the public who are required to undergo testing according to the compulsory testing notices to do so at the testing centres within the specified period.
It is cross-checking the records of people who have undertaken the test as required under the compulsory testing notice issued for Ming Lai House and Fung Chak House at Choi Wan (II) Estate, and will trace those who might not have done so.
