New mobile testing station opens

December 27, 2020

The Government has arranged for a testing agency to set up a mobile specimen collection station at Lei Sang House of Lei Yue Mun Estate to provide COVID-19 testing services from today.

The station was set up after several COVID-19 cases were reported at Lei Sang House. The station provides free testing services for residents and workers there.

It will tentatively run until December 31 from 10am to 8pm.

Testing agencies are providing specimen collection services by combined nasal and throat swabs at mobile stations in various districts.

People subject to compulsory testing and undergo testing at these stations will be deemed to have undergone a test at a community testing centre.

The community testing centre in Yau Tong Community Hall will continue to provide free testing services to Lei Yue Mun Estate residents and workers up to December 31. Its operating hours are from 8am to 1.30pm and from 2.30pm to 8pm daily.

The centre provides booking as well as on-site registration services.

Those with negative test results will be notified by SMS.

People with a preliminary positive result will be referred to the Department of Health’s Public Health Laboratory Services Branch for a confirmatory test.

Confirmed cases will be followed up and announced by the Centre for Health Protection.
