The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating 71 additional COVID-19 cases, of which 61 are locally transmitted.
Among the local cases, 30 have an unknown source of infection.
Fu Yan House at Fu Shan Estate in Wong Tai Sin registered one more infection, necessitating the issue of a compulsory testing notice that requires people who had visited that housing block for more than two hours at any time during the period from November 12 to December 24 to undergo virus testing.
Meanwhile, three infections occurred in Wing Shui House at Lek Yuen Estate in Sha Tin, with two of the affected units located on the same floors. The centre will distribute specimen collection bottles at the housing block.
For Kwai Tung House at Tung Tau (II) Estate, further to the compulsory testing notice published on December 14 requiring those who had been present at that housing block for more than two hours during the specified period to undergo testing, these people have to undergo a second test.
Given that infections had taken place due to family gatherings during the winter solstice, the CHP called on the public to stay vigilant during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
