Govt reports initial COVID-19 case

The Commerce & Economic Development Bureau today said an Assistant Clerical Officer has preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19.


The officer is the close contact of a positive case.

 

She is responsible for providing supporting services on 22/F, West Wing, Central Government Offices, Tamar and does not have contact with the public in her daily work.

 

The officer last performed her duties on December 1. She wore surgical masks, maintained social distancing and had a normal body temperature while at work.

 

The department said thorough cleaning and disinfection at the workplaces have been conducted.

 

The officer's colleagues have been arranged to work from home and undergo COVID-19 testing.

 

The bureau will continue to maintain close liaison with the Centre for Health Protection. It has also reminded its staff to pay attention to their personal hygiene.
