New rules for leisure venues

November 25, 2020

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department today announced that anti-epidemic measures will be imposed on dance activities at its venues in view of the latest COVID-19 situation.

Except rehearsals before performances, processing of applications for dance activities in indoor facilities managed by the LCSD will be suspended from November 26 and such activities will be temporarily prohibited in these indoor facilities from November 28.

From November 27, all users of dance, activity, multipurpose and fitness rooms managed by the department have to wear face masks at all times except when playing designated sports as specified in the Prevention & Control of Disease (Requirements & Directions) (Business & Premises) Regulation (Cap 599F) gazette notice.

For recreation and sports programmes, the LCSD will suspend the enrolment for dance activities and cancel all dance training courses and fun days from November 28.

Regarding cultural venues, all museums including the Science Museum and the Space Museum will temporarily suspend some of the interactive exhibits and all children's facilities. All museums will continue to apply visitor quotas.

For refund arrangements in relation to these measures, the hirer may submit a completed refund application form together with the original booking permit to the LCSD booking office at a District Leisure Services Office or relevant leisure venues in person or by post.

For performance venues, facility booking section staff at related venues will contact affected hirers for rescheduling or refunds.
