David Wong to chair EdUHK council

The Government today announced that the Chief Executive has appointed David Wong as Chairman of the Council of the Education University of Hong Kong.

 

The appointment is for three years from January 1, 2021.

 

Secretary for Education Kevin Yeung said Mr Wong has a distinguished academic background with extensive experience in business, industry and policy research. He also noted that Mr Wong is a prominent leader in society who is dedicated to public service.

 

“He is currently the Chairman of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority, as well as a member of the Basic Law Promotion Steering Committee, the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee, and the Chief Executive's Council of Advisers on Innovation & Strategic Development.

 

“I have full confidence in him leading the university in pursuing excellence and scaling new heights,” Mr Yeung added.

 

Mr Yeung also thanked outgoing chairman Prof Frederick Ma.
