Govt supports pyrotechnics operators

October 23, 2020

The Pyrotechnics & Special Effects Operators Subsidy Scheme under the Anti-epidemic Fund (AEF) opened for application starting today to November 13 at 5pm, the Government announced.

The scheme will provide a $7,500 one-off subsidy to each special effects operator (SEO) and special effects assistant (SEA) holding at least one valid licence between January 1 and September 30 issued under the Entertainment Special Effects Ordinance and its subsidiary legislation.

The scheme also applies to eligible applicants who have not benefited from the Employment Support Scheme or any other sector-specific subsidy schemes under the AEF.

Same practitioners holding different types of SEO or SEA licences should only receive a maximum subsidy amount of $7,500.
