16.8k virus test specimens collected

The Government said the Yau Tsim Mong Temporary Testing Centre collected specimens from 1,267 people for COVID-19 nucleic acid tests today, bringing the number of specimens collected at all four temporary testing centres to 16,802.

 

The Yau Tsim Mong centre ceased operation at 8pm.

 

As ‪of 10pm, a total of 15,535 specimens collected under the temporary community testing arrangement had been tested.

 

Specimens with a positive COVID-19 result will be referred to the Department of Health's Public Health Laboratory Services Branch for a confirmatory test. Confirmed cases will be followed up and announced by the Centre for Health Protection.

 

While the temporary testing centres have ceased operation, people can still receive free virus tests by obtaining deep throat saliva specimen collection packs at the 46 Hospital Authority general out-patient clinics. The distribution time has been extended to ‪9am to 1pm and ‪2pm to 5pm from Monday to Friday.
