The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government today announced that it will suitably introduce amendments to the National Flag & National Emblem Ordinance.

The 22nd session of the 13th National People's Congress Standing Committee today endorsed the amendments to the National Flag Law and the National Emblem Law.

The laws were listed in Annex III to the Basic Law on July 1, 1997, and were applied in the Hong Kong SAR by way of legislation through the enactment of the National Flag & National Emblem Ordinance.

The Hong Kong SAR Government will introduce amendments to the ordinance to implement provisions that are applicable to Hong Kong and fulfil its constitutional responsibility.
