Anonymous letter claims untrue

September 2, 2020

The Judiciary today said claims made in an anonymous letter about a talk it hosted on July 3 are untrue.

In response to media enquiries, the Judiciary said the talk was organised for magistrates by its Hong Kong Judicial Institute on July 3 with the topic "Judicial Impartiality & Public Confidence".

It pointed out that the remarks attributed to the speaker in the anonymous letter are untrue.

The Chief Justice also did not meet with any magistrates after the talk as alleged in the letter, it added.
