Chief Executive Carrie Lam today met representatives of civil servant organisations to listen to their views on the upcoming Policy Address.

More than 10 representatives from the civil service central consultative councils and major service-wide staff unions attended the 2020 Policy Address consultation session.

Chief Secretary Matthew Cheung and Secretary for the Civil Service Patrick Nip also joined the meeting.

Mrs Lam thanked civil servants for standing fast at their posts and shouldering extra work in the fight against COVID-19.

She said civil servants responded proactively to the soon-to-be-launched Universal Community Testing Programme, adding their commitment to serving the public and their professionalism is admirable.

Noting that the fight against the disease is a long-lasting battle, Mrs Lam said she hopes to overcome the virus together with civil servants to provide the best services to members of the public.

Mrs Lam will hold other theme-based Policy Address consultation sessions in the month ahead via video conferencing.
