Yangjiang power plant sound

August 27, 2020

An operational event at Yangjiang Nuclear Power Station on August 25 did not affect the plant’s safe operation, the Government said today.

The case, reported on the Yangjiang Nuclear Power Company’s website, involved a storage tank level gauge related to a Unit 4 safety system.

During a regular check on the gauge, station workers found the storage tank’s true liquid level did not meet the requirements in the guidelines. The liquid level returned to normal on the same day after a refill operation.

The unit was in a safe condition throughout the event.

The Government said the event was classified as a Level 0 deviation in accordance with the International Nuclear & Radiological Event Scale and relevant nuclear safety regulations, adding that it had no effect on the station’s safe operation, workers’ health, nearby public or the environment.
