The Correctional Services Department today said that none of its officers have been interdicted for having an intimate relationship with the girlfriend of a dangerous drugs trafficker under custody.

The department made the statement in response to an unfounded media report that claimed an Assistant Officer has been interdicted.

It pointed out no correctional officer is being investigated for having such a relationship and that it has not received a complaint regarding such an incident.

The department said it attaches great importance to the conduct, integrity and ethics of its staff, adding it will take action if any staff member violates the law.
