More than 11,000 applications have been approved so far under the Subsidy Scheme for Beauty Parlours, Massage Establishments and Party Rooms, involving about $560 million in subsidies.

Launched under the second round of the Anti-epidemic Fund, the scheme has received about 14,000 applications, the Government said.

Over 12,000 applicants have been notified of their vetting results while around 2,000 remaining applications involving relatively complicated situations are being processed.

The remaining applications involve chain operators supplementing or amending information after submitting applications and the need to verify bank account information for subsidy transfer.

Depending on the follow-up progress of these cases, the vetting work of the scheme is expected to be largely completed within this month. In addition, suspected cases of fraud have been referred to Police.
