10 arrested under security law

Police today arrested 10 people who were suspected of collusion with a foreign country or with external elements to endanger national security, contravening Article 29 of the National Security Law, and conspiracy to defraud.

 

Police said officers of the National Security Department conducted search operations with a warrant issued by a magistrate after an in-depth investigation and made the arrests.

 

The nine men and one woman arrested, aged between 23 and 72, are being detained for questioning.

 

Police added that an investigation is under way and further arrests are possible.
