Govt reports 1 COVID-19 case

August 10, 2020

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department today said an outsourced security guard has tested positive for COVID-19.

The female security guard worked at the Hong Kong Zoological & Botanical Gardens and last performed duties on August 1.

She had no recent travel history. While on duty she wore a surgical mask and her body temperature was normal.

She sought medical treatment after feeling unwell and was notified on August 9 that she tested positive for COVID-19. She is being treated under isolation in the hospital.

Thorough cleaning and sterilisation of her work areas and related public facilities have been arranged.

The department emphasised that it will maintain close liaison with the Centre for Health Protection and reminded staff members to pay attention to their personal hygiene.
