The Leisure & Cultural Services Department today said that an Amenities Assistant has preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19.

The assistant provides support services at Sheung Wan Municipal Services Building and last performed his duties on July 30.

He had no recent travel history and wore a surgical mask while on duty.

His body temperature was normal when undergoing temperature screening during work.

He felt unwell earlier and sought medical treatment at a hospital. He was notified yesterday that he has preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19.

The area he works at is not open to the public.

The department will arrange thorough cleaning and sterilisation at his work areas and related public facilities.

The department has also reminded staff members to pay attention to personal hygiene and seek medical advice immediately if they feel unwell.
