The Hospital Authority announced today that an 80-year-old male COVID-19 patient passed away, taking the number of COVID-19 patients who have died in public hospitals to 25.

The patient with chronic disease was admitted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital on July 18 due to fever.

His condition continued to deteriorate and the hospital communicated with the family about the patient's condition. The patient's family agreed not to do cardiopulmonary resuscitation if the patient’s condition further deteriorated.

He passed away at 8.07pm.
