$13m set for cyclone victims

The Government today approved $13.479 million in grants for three relief agencies to help cyclone victims in West Bengal and Odisha, India.

 

Habitat for Humanity Hong Kong has been granted $5.099 million, Save the Children Hong Kong has been allocated $4.52 million and World Vision Hong Kong $3.86 million.

 

The grants will be used to provide hygiene, food and education kits as well as household items and shelter materials to around 104,040 victims.

 

To ensure the money is used properly, the relief agencies must submit evaluation reports and audited accounts after the relief projects are completed.
