The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government held a webinar today to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Basic Law's promulgation where Chief Executive Carrie Lam made the first address.

The webinar comprises keynote addresses and a dialogue session.

State Council Hong Kong & Macao Affairs Office Deputy Director Zhang Xiaoming, and Vice-Chairperson of the Hong Kong SAR Basic Law Committee (BLC) under the NPC Standing Committee Zhang Yong gave keynote speeches on the Basic Law, "one country, two systems" and national security.

The dialogue session at the webinar was moderated by BLC Vice-Chairperson Maria Tam. She hosted a discussion on the historical background and implementation of the Basic Law with the first Secretary for Justice Elsie Leung and Prof Albert Chen from the University of Hong Kong's Faculty of Law.
